Submersible pump consists of pump, connecting pipeline and controller. The appearance of submersible pump and its position in tank is showed in diagram 2-10. Pump motor includes electromotor, wiring panel, overheat protector and pipeline; centrifugal pump has the elements of filter, anti-static subassembly, impeller and pump axis. Those who hope to find it by mimicking the effect of calorie restriction are not, however, complete snake-oil salesmen, for there is known to be a family of enzymes called sirtuins, which act both as sensors of nutrient availability and as regulators of metabolic rate. These might provide the necessary biochemical link between starving and living longer. An elixir of life? Boosting the activity of sirtuins in yeast, nematode worms and fruitflies (three rapidly reproducing stalwarts of biological laboratories) does indeed result in longer lifespans. In 2003 a team led by David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School described 19 plant-derived molecules that activate sirtuins in yeast.
